We visited bury st edmunds for a little getaway break. After some research found this place. Well what can I say. From booking to departure was great experience. The communication before arriving and check in was outstanding. The ease of check in, the room was stunning absolutely spotless and the facilities was great. The location is stunning and quiet. The hosts were amazing and the locals so friendly. The breakfast at the bull freehouse, which is a stones throw was lovely. Would highly, highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a nice quiet getaway but still 10 mins from the main town. Top notch

Fabulous spontaneous 1 night stay at The Pear Tree Inn. Really beautiful imaginative decor , very comfortable bed , very quiet and out of the ordinary in terms of thoughtful details. The rooms are a minute away from The Bull which the owners also own . It’s a fantastic cosy pub and restaurant where we had a terrific meal and evening. Amazing breakfasts also with everything you could want and some. Excellent attentive friendly service from Joe in the evening and then from Sam who is one of the owners over breakfast. Really is nice when owners and their staff are so friendly and chatty. Makes you feel at home and want to go back .. but actually everything about this place makes you want to go back , and that’s what we were saying as we drove away! That it’d be a great place to go to to just give yourselves a treat sometimes .. dinner and a stay over. We certainly will !! It is all in all a lovely experience and the owners deserve a lot of credit for their energy and creativity and enthusiasm in making this place as special as it is!

Loved this place. We had lunch at the black bear then stayed the night. Would easily come back again. The staff were very friendly and nothing felt like to much to ask for, even extra gravy for the Sunday roast.

We stayed for 2 nights as a family of 6 adults (birthday treat for my Dads 70th) and what a perfect weekend it was! The rooms were stunning, (1 of them was even complimentary upgraded to a suite when we arrived) very clean, well decorated and with all the amenities you’d need. It’s just over the road to the Bull where we had breakfast and dinner both days. Again decor was lovely there was a good atmosphere and the food was delicious, on the 2nd night the chef even kindly went off menu and made a unique vegetarian dish for one of our table as they didn’t want the dish on the menu - going above and beyond! The service from the staff though is truly what made it. I’ve mentioned above the effort from the chef, but all the staff couldn’t have done anything more for us. However we can’t not specifically mention Harriette who was absolutely fantastic throughout, her attention to detail, personal style and high energy genuinely made the weekend. Thanks for being the cherry on the cake! All 6 of us would recommend and happily stay again.

We’ve had a lovely stay at the Pear Tree Inn. Our room was very comfortable with everything you could wish for, spotlessly clean with a pantry of goodies. The Bull again was fabulous, wonderful staff and atmosphere. The food and drink was excellent. Cannot fault anything. We hope to come back again soon. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay in the Comice room. The room has everything you need and more. Lots of little details, and it was spotlessly clean, roomy and with stylish furnishings. The staff were all excellent and the vibe in The Bull was great. Our evening meal was exceptional. The Cotê de boeuf melted in the mouth.
